Bart Janssen Translations

English, German and Portuguese into Dutch

Services

After my graduation in 2001 I started working as a freelance translator. Since then I've carried out legal, commercial, technical and medical translations from English, German and Portuguese into Dutch. The subjects from these translations range from contracts, terms and conditions to travel guides and holiday brochures, but also press releases, data sheets, user manuals for consumer electronics and documentation for the car industry.

For translation assignments my CAT tool of preference is Trados, for which I own a license of the most recent version (Studio 2022). I have regularly used MemoQ as well and I'm also familiar with the online translation tools XTM en MateCat.

In 2014 I have mastered the art of subtitling as well, completing a course in subtitling. Ever since I have translated/subtitled various well-known tv series and even a Brazilian telenovela.

Next to translation and subtitling I have also gained more indepth knowledge and experience in the area of DTP, using InDesign. So if you need help with formatting a translation in InDesign, I can assist as well.
